Rotary District 3271 Ushers in the Rotary Year 2026–27 with a Grand Installation Ceremony

The Rotary District 3271 Installation Ceremony for the Rotary Year 2026–27 was held on 4 July 2026 at the Marquee, Pearl Continental Hotel, Karachi, bringing together Rotarians, dignitaries, and distinguished guests from across the district to celebrate the beginning of a new year of service and leadership.

The day commenced with the installation of Assistant Governors, Club Presidents, Secretaries, and District Chairpersons, reaffirming Rotary’s commitment to strengthening leadership across the district. As Rotarians and guests assembled for the evening ceremony, the official proceedings began with a recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by the national anthems of Pakistan and Australia, symbolising Rotary’s global fellowship.

The audience was welcomed by the President of the Rotary Club of Karachi before witnessing the launch of the commemorative publication, “100 Years of Rotary Service in Pakistan,” celebrating a century of Rotary’s enduring impact and humanitarian service in the country.

Outgoing District Governor Shakil Kaim Khani reflected on the achievements of the previous Rotary Year before formally installing Shahzad Sabir as District Governor for the Rotary Year 2026–27. This was followed by the installation of the District Team and commemorative group photographs marking the commencement of the new leadership.

District Governor Shahzad Sabir then shared his vision and priorities for the year ahead, outlining an ambitious roadmap focused on service, membership growth, innovation, and community impact. The evening also featured addresses by Past TRF Trustee Aziz Memon and Past Rotary International Director Muhammad Faiz Kidwai, who inspired attendees with their reflections on Rotary’s enduring mission and the opportunities that lie ahead.

Among the highlights of the evening were the launch of the District Website and Mobile Application, demonstrating the district’s commitment to digital engagement, as well as the unveiling of the Million Trees Project and the presentation of the Medical Outreach Committee, reflecting Rotary’s continued commitment to environmental sustainability and community health.

The ceremony was honoured by the presence of Jennifer A. Scott, who attended as Chief Guest and addressed the gathering, reinforcing the values of leadership, fellowship, and Service Above Self that continue to define Rotary around the world.

The evening concluded with the presentation of shields and souvenirs, followed by a vote of thanks from District Governor-Elect Ch. Fahad Sikandar. Guests then enjoyed dinner and musical performances, providing Rotarians with an opportunity to celebrate fellowship while marking the beginning of another promising Rotary Year.

The Installation Ceremony set an inspiring tone for the year ahead, highlighting Rotary District 3271’s shared commitment to leadership, service, innovation, and creating lasting impact in communities across the district.
