In August 2025, the Rotary Club of Karachi had the singular honor of hosting The Rotary Foundation (TRF) Seminar in Karachi, attended by over 220 Rotarians and spouses. The true spirit of Rotary, was displayed, with high attendance, in spite of the city experiencing heavy rain and many areas facing urban flooding. The evening was as such, a remarkable display of commitment, fellowship, and celebration, reaffirming that Rotarians will always come together to Unite for Good!
The seminar was graced by Rtn. Holger Knaack, Chair of The Rotary Foundation, and Rtn. Michael McGovern, Chair of the International PolioPlus Committee (IPPC). Their presence elevated the event to an international stature, offering inspiration and recognition of the pivotal role which Pakistan plays in Rotary’s global humanitarian initiatives. Among the distinguished guests were Past Trustee TRF Aziz Memon, Past RI Director Faiz Kidwai, esteemed PDGs, the current DG, DGE, DGN, Past Presidents, senior Rotarians from several clubs of District 3271, and the President of the Rotary Club of Karachi.
A highlight of the seminar was the panel discussion on “Changing Lives with Global Grants,” moderated by DRFC PDG Ovais Kohari, with panelists PDG Adnan Rafiq, PDG Abdul Latif, and PP Uzma Sheikh sharing impactful insights. PT TRF Aziz Memon, PRI Director Faiz Kidwai and IPPC Chair Michael McGovern also addressed the gathering.
Then the Chief Guest, TRF Chair Holger Knaack delivered a motivational speech. The evening drew to a close with pledges and recognition, followed by a vote of thanks delivered by DGN Fahad Sikander.
